It looks like there is not going to be a limit of the leaks happening for the upcoming smartphone from OnePlus, the OnePlus 3. Last week, we had seen several images that purportedly featured the device and could make out the fact that there is going to be a major design overhaul for the upcoming flagship. Now, Evan Blass, a known name when it comes to such leaks, has posted the press render of the device via his twitter handle @evleaks that give us even better insight into the design of the smartphone. He has also mentioned some of the hardware that the device is likely to feature.
Design
We can definitely say that the leaked images of the handset do promise at an interesting design and form factor. The OnePlus 3 features a unibody metal design with a front firing speaker grill and camera at the top of the screen and a home button embedded with a fingerprint sensor at the bottom. At the back of the device, the square-shaped camera module along with the antenna lines are clearly visible. It looks like this time as well, the smartphone will come with a single mono speaker which is located at the bottom, owing to the single visible grill that we can see at the left side of the device. The design is also quite similar to what we saw on the HTC One M9.
On the right side, we have SIM card tray and power / sleep button and the alert slider along with the volume rocker is placed on the left. The audio jack along with a USB type C charging port is placed at the bottom of the device.
Based on the leaks, we are sure that the device is going to flaunt a major upgrade in the hardware department.
Display
It will feature 5.5 inches wide full HD resolution display. It looks like this time, again, Quad HD resolutions are missing. However, the device is supposedly making a change as far as the screen technology is concerned from an LCD panel to an AMOLED one. This will definitely lead to improved black and overall battery consumption of the device.
Specs
Talking of what powers the device, it will definitely feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset, like those of its competitors along with Adreno 530 for graphics processing. It is also rumored that the device will be available in two RAM/internal memory combo of 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory and 4GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard memory.
Camera
In the camera department, there are rumors that OnePlus is going to bump the resolution a bit higher than what was available one the OnePlus 2 to 16-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and an 8-megapixel front-facing ‘selfies’ camera.
Battery
The device may be supported by a 3000mAh non-removable battery. This time around we are sure that the OnePlus 3 will come with the fast charging option as the company had recently trademarked ‘Dash Charge feature.’
Pricing and availability
The details of the pricing are not yet known to us, however, Carl Pei, co-founder, OnePlus had hinted that the upcoming device may be priced higher than its predecessors. However, this time, we expect the company to ditch the much-dreaded invite only system.
The OnePlus 3 could be launched by the end of the next month.
