Namotel Acche Din smartphone

Remember Freedom 251? The smartphone which claimed to be the cheapest smartphone in the world. Company tool pre-orders but we are not sure when they will actually start delivering the phone. While we are still waiting for that phone, we just heard about a new phone which becomes the cheapest smartphone for just Rs. 99. This phone is called Namotel Acche Din. Are they serious?

Name of the phone clearly indicated that they are trying to take benefit of the Narendra Modi’s popularity. The government must take some action if they are trying to do fraud in the name of Achche Din.

According to promoter Madhava Reddy, this phone will come with the 5-inch display, Android 5.1 Lollipop, 1.3 GHz Quad-core processor and 1 GB RAM. Other specs are dual SIM, 3G, 2 MP rear camera, VGA front camera and 1325 mAh battery.

This phone is available on cash-on-delivery basis and buyers will have to bear the delivery charges. The smartphone will be available for booking from may 17th to till 25th May.

On their website, they mentioned that price has been slashed from Rs 2,999 to Rs 99. It also noted, ‘Pictures shown on website is for illustration purposes only’.

The company also confirmed that this model is limited and is applicable to Indian citizens having Aadhar Identity. The company didn’t confirm the number of phones they will be selling for Rs. 99. If this is not a scam, company will surely sell only a few hundreds of units at this price just to get initial media boost and initial marketing.
