Microsoft has another bad news to be the worry. Here maps has been a good thing for Windows Phone users for years, but it is coming to an end. Here announced its plans to pull Here Maps apps for Windows 10 on March 29th. Here Maps will stop working on Windows 10 devices after June 30th.

If you have a smartphone with Windows 10, you will no longer be able to use Here Maps after June 30. The company decided to take this hard step due to some critical issues in development phases. To keep the app running, it requires a redevelopment of the app from scratch. So, the company decided to stop supporting app in place of complete redevelopment.

The company will remove the app from Windows 10 store on March 29, 2016.

The company also confirmed that Windows Maps app uses many HERE elements. So, users can use that app to get maps, routes and navigation on Windows 10.

HERE apps for Windows 8 will continue to work without any issue. But the company is limiting the development and will stop adding more features. Users will only receive bug fixes for critical issues.

Microsoft purchased Nokia’s handset division but failed to get rights for HERE Maps. Later, Nokia sold HERE maps to Audi, BMW, and Mercedes for $3 billion back in August last year. Now it is clear that German auto companies want to focus on Android and iOS platform. Supporting Windows is an overhead due to very less amount of users.
