Samsung Gear VR Headset launched in India for Rs. 8200

Samsung India has launched its Gear VR headset in country. It is priced at Rs. 8200. It will be available both online via Flipkart and offline from its physical retail store chain, Croma and Reliance Digital.

Samsung Galaxy VR headset works with its high-end Galaxy smartphones including Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 Edge+, Galaxy S6, and Galaxy S6 Edge. It provides access to films, gaming, 360 degree video and experiential content.

Company confirmed that it comes with 96 degree field of view and is lighter than previous version. Weight is just 318 grams with dimensions of 201.9×116.4×92.6mm. It is packed with back, volume, and focus adjustment wheel button for controls. It can be charged with microUSB port present in the device.

It is packed with gyro, accelerometer, and proximity sensors.

This is still in early stages and company should not expect much buyers in country. People are not taking interest in wearable and virtual reality tech. This may be because they do not want to spent money on these tech for now.
