Datawind 7SC Tablet With Free Internet Browsing Launched at Rs. 2,999
Today, Datawind launched its ultra low-cost tablet ‘Datawind PC 7SC’ in India. It is priced at Rs. 2,999. Main attraction of the device is that it offers free Internet surfing for one year via the UbiSurfer browser. For this, company has partnered with RCom and Telenor networks. This tablet will be available via Snapdeal and Den Snapdeal TV-Shop.
Datawind 7SC is a dual-SIM tablet and runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat. It features a 7-inch WVGA (480×800 pixels) resolution display. It is powered by a 1.3GHz single core MediaTek processor (unspecified chipset). It is packed with 512MB RAM. On storage front, it has 4GB of internal storage with microSD card slot to expand storage up to 32GB. It also offers a rear camera but company didn’t specified camera details. I guess it would be a VGA camera.
It supports calling over 2G network and supports 3G connectivity via dongle. Other connectivity features are Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and microUSB. It is packed with 2400 mAh battery which claims to offer 6 to 8 hours of usage.
Suneet Singh Tuli, President and CEO of DataWind Inc. said, “The new range of smart-phones and tablets are powered with free unlimited Internet browsing for a year on Reliance Communications (RCom) and Telenor network.” He added, “We are launching this tablet to address the forgotten billions, who are our largest constituent of digital age today. We are very confident that 7SC will impress everyone with its superior quality and innovation. The growing ambition of people will find the product within their reach, geographically as well as economically”.
