Huawei Honor 4XChinese telecom company Huawei has planned to end its exclusive partnership with Flipkart. Soon, Huawei’s honor phones will also be available on retail stores and other online stores. Main reason behind this decision is to expand the reach to more Indian consumers who do not shop online.

“We are seriously contemplating omnipresence sales channel strategy to expand our reach to customers. We get 75% of our sales from top 35 cities. We have to make plan to reach them out as everyone doesn’t buy online,” Huawei Telecommunications India Director Sales P Sanjeev told PTI.

Huawei started selling Honor phones via Flipkart almost a year ago and saw good response. Its entry level phone Huawei Honor Holly did very well in India. Huawei Honor 4C and Huawei Honor 4X also saw good response but flagship devices couldn’t beat competition. Other Chinese companies are also giving tough competition. India is a very big market and getting a considerable market share can help company in boosting its overall growth.

Company also confirmed that its top management want to triple the sales of phone in India to gain its market share up to 10%. So, this change in strategy is the part of growth of company in Indian market for 2016.

“Now we have completed about one year and understand our customer. We have a clear picture now, where is our buyer and for which product, which is going to make our business smooth. We listen to our customers through social media network, read feedbacks on Flipkart and grievances send out by them directly to us to improve upon,” Sanjeev added.

Sanjeev also confirmed that Huawei would launch 2-3 more phones by the end of this year. Company is also expecting to sell 1.5-2 million units by the end of this year.
