Fake Windows 10 upgrade can take over all files of your computer for ransom

Microsoft started pushing Windows 10 upgrade few days back. While people are excited to get this new Windows OS, scammers are also trying to cash this opportunity. Fake Windows 10 emails have been discovered which can take over your all files of your computer if you install fake upgrade.

Cisco’s security team revealed the details of this kind of fake Windows 10 emails. This email appears to come from Microsoft and asks you to download upgrade and then install in your system. This upgrade is actually a ransomware called CTB-Locker which can encrypts all files in your system until your are agree to pay. Hackers usually ask payment in form on bitcoin. If you do not pay, you will not be able to access your files again. Infected PC will show this kind of message:

Important thing you need to know about Windows 10 upgrade

Microsoft is not sending any kind of Windows 10 upgrade emails. So, ignore any such kind of emails. You will receive notification in your system when the upgrade is available. You should only trust on this desktop notification on your Windows 7 or Windows 8 computer.
