Today at Microsoft BUILD, Microsoft showed off a tool how old which claims to guesses your age based on a photo. You only need to upload your photo, and let this tool analyze your face. In few seconds, it shows the age of the faces in picture.

But seriously, this tool works terribly wrong. It guessed my age 38 years old. I tried my other photo and got my age 31 years old. Dear Microsoft! do I look too old? I don’t think so.

How old Microsoft

I asked my friends to try this tool and every one was disappointed. Results were too far from actual age of the person.

I also checked the responses of persons on Twitter. Everyone got the age wrong.

Microsoft also wrote a note “Sorry if we didn’t quite get the age and gender right” below the results page. But the tool does not show the result even close to reality. I am not sure how Microsoft tested the tool. I couldn’t find a single result which is close to the actual age of a person.
