Elance-oDesk rebrands as Upwork; Launches unified website

Elance-oDesk rebrands as Upwork; Launches unified website

Odesk is now UpworkIf you are a Freelancer, I am sure you already know about Elance and oDesk. The oDesk Acquired Elance few months back but Elance was still working independently.  Today, oDesk announced that it is rebranding its business as Upwork and merging both sites together under this brand. Now oDesk website is redirecting to new Upwork website.

Company claims that new platform will help Freelancers get hired fast. New platform features “enhanced matching algorithms” built by its Stanford PhD employees. This algorithm helps improved and faster matching. So, freelancers will be able to find relevant jobs easily. Freelancers can also set their availability status to “right away,” “looking” or “not looking”. It will ensure faster matching.

New platform also claims to have better messaging experience which includes chat and video calls. Company has also launched the Upwork Messenger app for both Android and iPhone devices.

Company has also launched an app for iOS. It helps both freelancers and employers. App lets users easily create jobs, see proposals, find jobs and communicate with employers.
