Paytm Enters Into Grocery Segment with new ‘Paytm Zip’

Paytm has entered into online grocery market with Paytm Zip. Paytm Zip is an on demand mobile platform for ordering groceries from the local stores. Company has started this service in selected area of Bangalore. These areas are Bellandur, Iblur, Sarjapur, Kadubeesanahalli, Marathalli and Kundalahalli.

Paytm Zip has been started as a pilot project and soon it will be expanded in other cities too. In Bangalore, company has partnered with local stores and third-party logistic stores. Company is also planning to bring it to NCR region by the end of May.

Company plans to reach 10,000 transactions in the grocery space in the first few months. Grocery segment is not enough mature and gas less competition. Most of the people are not interested in shopping grocery online, but companies are trying to attract more customers. Flipkart, Amazon and Snapdeal has already confirmed their plans to come in this segment. Zopnow, Bigbasket, Grofers, Localbanya and PepperTap are also trying their best to get market share before any big player come in this segment.

In coming months, this segment will see more competition. So, users can expect better service and more disounts.
