LinkedIn just acquired Lynda.com for $1.5 billion

LinkedIn has just acquired online learning platform Lynda.com for huge $1.5 billion. This deal includes 52 percent cash and 48 percent stock. Most of the employees of Lynda.com will be joining Linkedin.com.

Lynda.com is a popular online learning platform. It was founded in 1995 by Lynda Weinman. On Lynda, you can explorer video tutorials from industry experts on subjects like Photoshop, basic HTML, CSS and many more.

Ryan Roslansky, LinkedIn’s head of content products said:

Together, I believe we can make it even easier for professionals around the world to accelerate their careers and realize their potential through the learning and development of new skills. 

Linkedin didn’t reveal the exact plans for Lynda.com. Lynda.com will be open for users and businesses until Linkedin and Lynda both come with something new.
