Microsoft Announces Free Windows 10 upgrade for Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.1 users

Microsoft has kicked off its Windows 10 event and showcased its Windows 10 OS. Microsoft confirmed free upgrades to Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows Phone 8.1 users. But this upgrade will be free within the first year after the operating system is launched.

Microsoft will also try to engage developers that build programs for its platform. When Android and iOS are very popular, Windows developers are facing touch competition. Windows 10 will work across all devices, so it will have extra benefit. Developers can easily create apps for both desktop and mobile platforms.

Free upgrade will also help Microsoft to push its users to recent version of Windows. Windows 7 is the most popular operating system and Windows 8 failed to get enough users. This is the reason why Microsoft is also offering free upgrade to Windows 7 users.
