Last month, Microsoft announced its YU Brand of smartphone that will come with CyanogenMod OS. Now company has started sending out invites for the launch event scheduled for December 18. Invite does not confirm anything about the smartphone’s specification. The all we know is that it will come with CyanogenMod OS.

Micromax YU brand

During the announcement of YU brand, Micromax’s co-founder Rahul Sharma said that this will be the game changer for the company in Indian and global market. So, we can expect something good from the company. It is also expected that devices will be budget friendly but with powerful hardware specifications.

For this series of smartphone, company has partnered with Cyanogen Inc to get exclusive rights to use CyanogenMod OS in India. This partnership also created big trouble for OnePlus One which went on sale in India earlier this month. OnePlus devices directly sold in India will not receive OTA updates. This is the reason why OnePlus One has started working on its own custom builds for Indian smartphones.
