Google’s Project Ara is still in development phase and it has already gotten a competitor. Vsenn, a company co-founded by a former Nokia Android X program manager, has also announced a new modular smartphone project.
Vsenn’s website has very few details about the new project. The message on the website reads, “OUR MISSION IS TO GIVE EVERYONE THE POWER TO CREATE THEIR PERFECT SMARTPHONE BY USING MODULAR AND UPGRADABLE HARDWARE.”
Vesnn aims to offers a perfect modular hardware model for smartphone. Basically, it will have three modules: Camera, Battery and Processor/RAM. Smartphone will run on stock updatable Android. Company also promised to offer guaranteed updates for the next 4 years. It also claims that data on the smartphone will be protected with triple layer of encryption. It also focuses privacy and offers free access to VPN network. Look will be customizable, stylish and durable.
Vesnn also revealed the details of its first modular smartphone via Twitter. It will have a 4.7 inch full HD display with dimensions: 4.88 x 2.48 x 0.35.
