Xiaomi launched its budget Android smartphone Xiaomi Redmi 1S in India at Mi3 launch event. Today at an event in Delhi, company has confirmed that it will go on sale for Rs. 5,999 via Flipkart starting from September 2nd. Sale process of the smartphone will be similar to what company adopted for Mi3. Customers will have to register to be eligible to take part in the sale. If you want to buy it on September 2nd, you will have to register today at 6 PM. Xiaomi announced this smartphone for Rs. 6,999 but dropped the price.

Xiaomi Redmi 1S

Xiaomi Redmi 1S features a 4.7 inch HD IPS display with  with Dragontrail glass protection and 1280×720 pixels resolution.. It is powered by a 1.6 GHz Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragn 400 (MSM8228) processor with Adreno 305 GPU. It runs on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean with MIUI ROM. It has a 8 megapixel rear camera with LED flash and a 1.6 megapixel front camera. It is packed with 1 GB RAM, 8 GB internal storage, microSD card slot to expand storage up to 64 GB, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, USB OTG and 2000 mAh battery.

Xiaomi Redmi 1S will be available in grey color but a range of colorful back covers will be available. You can purchase the cover for Rs. 469. Flipcover for the smartphone will be available for Rs. 559.
