After various media leaks, now LG has officially unveiled its new G Watch R. It will be showcased at IFA electronics show in Berlin next week.

LG G watch R

LG G Watch R is based on Android Wear platform. It features a 1.3 inch plastic OLED circular display similar to Moto 360. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor with 512 MB RAM. It comes with 4 GB internal storage. It is packed with 410 mAh battery. It is linked with LG’s fitness service to let you monitor your heart beats with the support of the embedded photoplethysmography (PPG) sensor. It also offers smart notifications which reminds you missed calls, messaes, meetings, events and weather forecasts. Company claims that it has been designed to deliver essential and relevant information at the right time and place. We will have to wait for IFA to see how it exactly performs.

“What we’ve noticed in the year of the wearable is that this is a category that can’t be compared to smartphones and tablets,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of the LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “Wearables are also accessories and consumers will want more than one to choose from. It is waterproof and can surive for 30 minutes if submerged in up to 1 meter water.
