Indian entrepreneur, Vishal Gondal has launched a wearable fitness band GoQii (pronounced as go-key). Like other smartbands, GoQii lets you track your fitness, steps you take, calories you burn and sleeping patterns. GoQii collects you health and activity data. This data will be used by a personal coach who will advice you in real time via calls or chats.
“Your coach will interpret your data and encourage you. They help you set goals, identify challenges and coach you to develop the habits needed to overcome your obstacles and reinforce your goals. Your coach ensures sustained engagement,” GoQii team explains.
GoQii has an impressive list of investors across the world and especially from Silicon Valley. Investors includes Steve Luczo – Seagate chairman, Amit Singhal – Senior VP at Google Inc, Mike McNamara – CEO of Flextronics, Madhuri Dixit – Bollywood Actress and her husband Dr Shriram Nene. Dr Shriram Nene is also serving the company as Chief Medical Officer.

GoQii is being sold as a service not as a hardware. You will have to buy the membership of the band. Price of 6 Months membership is Rs. 5,999 while annual membership charges are Rs. 9,999. After membership expires, users will be able to renew it or continue using smartband without personal coaching.
GoQii is now available for pre-order in India and delivery will start in April. GoQii Smartband Launched limited beta stage and being sold only to 1000 Indians only. The company will also launch GoQii smartband in Singapore, UAE, USA and UK.
