New Google Chrome Decreases Data Usage by Up to 50%

Google is about to release the updated version of Google Chrome. This new updated browser promises to decrease data usage up to 50% on mobile devices.

“We’ll be rolling out a new feature on Chrome for Mobile to help you reduce data usage and save money on your mobile plan. When enabled, Chrome’s data compression and bandwidth management can reduce data usage by up to 50% while browsing the web on Chrome for Android and iOS,” Google announced in a blog post.

Google Chrome Decreases Data Usage

Google also said that Google Chrome for mobile devices comes with Safe Browsing technology to help users protecting themselves from malicious web pages.

To use this new feature on Google Chrome for iOS and Android, click on settings > Bandwidth Management > Reduce data Usage. Here turn it on. Here, you will also be able to check how much bandwidth you save each month on Google Chrome.

This new updated also comes with much requested feature for iOS devices. Now, it comes with Google Translate support in Chrome for iOS. It lets users translate webpages on Chrome with a click.

In Chrome for Android, users will be able to create shortcuts for websites and add to home screen. With website shortcuts, you will be able to access websites quickly.
