Microsoft’s latest operating system Windows 8.1 is now available for pre-order from its website. Windows 8.1 will be launched on October 18. Microsoft is selling Windows 8.1 for $119.99 while Windows 8.1 Pro is available for $199.99.
All windows 8 users will receive Windows 8.1 update automatically on October 17. And this update will be free of cost. Users using other older version of Windows will have to purchase Windows 8.1.
Back in August, company announced that development of Windows 8.1 has been completed. Company also announced that it will release the new version on October 18.
Windows 8.1 is the first major update to its Windows 8 operating system launched in 2011. When Windows 8 was launched, it faced criticism from users for start menu. So, Microsoft has added the start menu again in this version.
Microsoft also says, “Windows 8.1 Pro is not designed for installation on devices running Windows XP or Windows Vista.” IF you are interested, you need to buy Windows 8 and then get a free upgrade to 8.1.
