Microsoft has announced that it has reached to 100k apps milestone in Windows 8 Store. Windows 8 Store took 7 months to reach this milestone after Windows 8 went on sale. Company announced this via Twitter.

If we compare these numbers with apps in Windows Phone Store, it took 18 months to reach 100k apps in Windows Phone Store. Android took almost 18 months to reach up to 100k apps.

Companies are also releasing dedicated Windows 8 apps. Facebook and Flipboard both announced to bring apps for Windows 8. In recent months, many popular games landed on Windows 8. Few more popular titles are coming in upcoming months.

Windows 8 is also growing fast. Few days back, company revealed that Windows 8 is now third most used browser of all time. So, it is obvious that it already has millions of users. So, having dedicated Windows 8 app will help companies to reach up to more users.
