Flipkart Hikes Affiliate Fee Up to 10%

Indian online retailer Flipkart has increased the affiliate payouts from the month of July. Company is now paying 10% referral amount for most of the categories. New rates are now effective.

“We will be offering you significantly higher referral payouts in July across all categories on the Flipkart.com Marketplace,” said Flipkart in an e-mail to affiliates.

In earlier rates, it used to pay %6 if an affiliate sells a book on Flipkart. After new rates, it will get 10% referral amount fo selling a book. For mobiles and tablets, Flipkart has increased referral amount to 5% from 1%. See the new rates the chart below.

Company was forced to hike referral rate because Amazon has entered in Indian market with its Amazon.in. Amazon.in is offering 10% referral amount to all its affiliate in most of the categories. It was a big threat for Flipkart and could affect its sale. Most of the blogger use affiliate marketing and promote products of these kind of companies. Increased referral amount will encourage bloggers to go for Flipakrt affiliate.
