Yahoo has now followed the path of Google and is shutting down few under-performing products. Yahoo has now announced to shout down BlackBerry app, Avatars, App Search, Sports IQ and its Message Boards website on April 1st. It will also end the support to Yahoo Updates API on April 16th.

Although, message board website will no longer available, individual message boards of website will continue to work. Blackberry app will not be available to download after April 1. But users who already have the app will be able to use all features of the app.

“In other cases, after much thought and deliberation, we decide to shut down some products. Before making these decisions, we look at a variety of factors. The most critical question we ask is whether the experience is truly a daily habit that still resonates for all of you today,” by Jay Rossiter, EVP, Platforms.

In the list, you may also find few products which are new to you. That is not a big deal if you don’t know about those products. This is the reason Yahoo is shutting down the support for the products.

Yahoo avatar allows users to build their avatars and then use it on Facebook or Twitter. Yahoo Clues is the service that allows users to analyze search trends around the web.
