Skype For Winodws 8 Arrives ahead of Windows 8 Release

A week ahead of Windows 8 release, Microsoft has announced the latest version of Skype built for Windows 8. It comes with Microsoft’s Metro design which is being called Modern Design by Skype. This app is available in Windows Store and will be added automatically on start screen of windows after installation.

“The team at Skype has been building on the Windows platform since the first release of Skype. With Skype for Windows 8 we’ve focused on how people are using Skype today, and re-imagined Skype for everyday communications across our global community,” Skype posted in blog.

“We’ve designed Skype for Windows 8 to focus on the way you use Skype. Your conversations are more accessible to you than ever, and you can switch fluidly from chat to video or audio calls,” he added.

This app puts people at the front whom you interact most. Skype window is divided into two parts. Right side of the window contains chat messages and calls and people who you contact most often are at left. dial pad is also revamped and you will easily see how much Skype Credit you have along with active subscriptions and your recent calls all in one easy view.

On Windows, It will run in background without putting extra load on system and will notify you about new calls and instant messages so you’ll always know when someone is contacting you.

This new Skype app can be snapped side by side with other app. So you can do anything while chatting with friends. This app allows you to pin most important people to the homescreen so that you will be able to see conversation with a tap. It also tells you what your contacts are doing on Twitter and Facebook.
