Yahoo Launches Axis, Mobile Browser With Yahoo Search

Yahoo has also entered into mobile browser’s market with the launch of Axis. This new mobile browser is now available in Apple App Store. This browser can also be used as a plug-in for desktop browsers including IE, Safari, Chrome and Firefox.

This mobile comes with in-built feature of Yahoo search. It aims to make search more visible. While searching with this browser, users will be able to see what’s trending, answers and thumbnails of the top search results.

According to Ethan Batraski, head of product for the Search Innovation Group at Yahoo, this browser will eliminate the middle step in the usual Web search process by skipping the step of surfing a bundle of links. When you will search anything with this browser, 80 percent of time, you will see horizontal display of Web page thumbnails. Other 20 percent of time you get text boxes with results in them. it’s easy to see if one of the pages is what you’re looking for, and then you can go there directly.

This browser is trying to show search results in different way to make it more user-friendly. Ads will also integrated into search results.

Yahoo Axis has a tool for sharing web pages easily direct from the browser via Twitter, email or Pinterest. But there is no Facebook option for sharing. We do not have exact idea for ignoring Facebook.

Yahoo is also working on Android and windows phone version of this browser. yahoo is also working on metro version for Windows Phone 8.
