LeEco Le 2, the successor of Le 1S, is now available in India for Rs. 11998. Before I talk about this phone, you should know that it is not just a phone but a superphone. This is what company calls it. And there is a genuine reason behind this. LeEco Le 2 or other LeEco phones come with LeEco Ecosystems which you can access after registration. And this membership allows you to access tons of content including movies, songs, live TV channels, live streaming, music streaming and cloud storage. While music streaming and cloud storage is not yet available, other services are available with dedicated apps in the phone. And this membership is free for first one year. After this time, you will be charged just Rs. 490 which is still very less considering the content you get. This is the reason company also calls this supertainment device.
Ok, leave the content aside and now I will be talking about the phone’s hardware and its performance. So, read the whole article to know if this phone is worth its price.

LeEco Le 2 Review
Design
You will fall in love with the design of this phone. For just Rs. 11999, this phone comes with metal unibody design which is very premium. Its chamfered edge makes it very beautiful. From the front, this phone is same as LeEco Le 1s. You will not be able to spot the difference if you see both phones from the front. Above the display, it has the proximity sensor, earpiece, and front camera. Sensor and the front camera make perfect symmetry. Below the display, it has three capacitive backlit keys which lit only if the screen is on.
Back has noticeable differences. This time, rear camera has been moved to center with fingerprint just below it. The Rear camera also has a cover of an anti-glare CD film for a kind of protection. Dual tone LED flash is smarts the right side of the rear camera. There is also a microphone above the rear camera on the antenna band line. Fingerprint has the same kind of glossy feel but the shape is Squircle.This time, antenna bands are visible at the back.
At the right edge, it has the volume rocker and power button. Buttons are placed at easy to reach positions. Left edge contains the SIM card slot which supports two nano SIM.
The top side has the only infrared sensor as the phone has ditched 3.5 mm audio port. At below side, it has speaker grill and USB Type-C port.
In terms of looks, this phone is premium and offers good feeling when you hold this. The weight of the phone is also just 153 grams which make it easy to operate. No other phones in this price range offer this kind of beautiful design.
Display
Le 2 comes with 5.5-inch full HD display with 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution. While many phones come with full HD display in this price range, Le 2 offers the much brighter display with the better color output. Even display of Le 1s seems dull in front of this phone. There are also various color modes including Vivid, Natural, Soft, and LeEco mode. You can select any of these according to your comfort level. Adaptive brightness feature of this phone also does a good job.
Outdoor performance is also very good and you feel very comfortable in checking the phone in outdoors.
Software and UI
Le 2 runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with EUI 5.6 at the top of it. While many other competitors in this price segment are still offering Android Lollipop, the company already has an advantage. UI is clean and offers very good user experience.
You get LeEco’s Levidi, Live and LeView to access premium content. This is the main charm of the phone which makes it the superphone.
Multimedia
As the phone ditches 3.5mm audio port for CDLA based on USB Type-C, it is worth to talk about its audio experience. CDLA offers better sound clarity and enhanced music experience. The company has also launched CDLA earphones which come bundled with the phone for free in first flash sales. While the company also offers USB Type-C to 3.5 mm audio port converter, you will not experience the same kind of music with your older earphones.
Not just earphones, the in-call sound is also very crystal clear. Loudspeaker also performs well.
Performance, RAM, and storage
Le 2 offers awesome performance and the same has been confirmed with its Antutu benchmark score. It is powered by 64 bit Snapdragon 652 octa-core processor with Adreno 510 GPU and 3 GB RAM. The overall performance of this phone is smooth with good multi-tasking capabilities.
This phone also handles games very smoothly. You can enjoy high-end games without any kind of issue.
It comes with 32 GB storage which is non-expandable. This could be the pain for many people who usually like to save movies and videos in their phone.
Camera
The Le 2 features 16-megapixels rear camera with LED flash, PDAF and F/2.0 aperture. The rear camera can also record 4K videos. The camera features including HDR, panorama, and various other models.
It also offers an 8-megapixels front camera for selfie shooting. Both cameras offer good performance.

Camera is fine but we have Redmi Note 3 and Moto G4 Plus as better camera phone in this price segment.
Connectivity
This is a dual SIM phone with 4G connectivity. Other connectivity features of the phone are dual-band WiFi (a/b/g/n/ac), WiFi Direct, WiFi Hotspot, Bluetooth 4.1 A2DP LE, Infrared port and USB Type-C port. All these options perform well.
Fingerprint Sensor and Infrared Sensor
It has fingerprint sensor which performs really well. From my person experience, I got around 90% success ratio. It is fast and captures fingerprint from any direction.
It also has the infrared sensor which converts it into the remote control for your electronics equipment. This option is fine and works well.
Battery
Le 2 comes with 3000 mAh battery with smart battery feature and fast charging. This time, the battery is better optimized and offers a full day usage easily.
If you are not the power user, you can easily achieve more than 36 hours of backup without any issue. The battery takes little less than 2 hours in fully charging with charger provided within the box.
Final Words
LeEco Le 2 is a power packed device with beautiful metal design. Only possible drawback is its non-expandable storage. All other things including display, camera and performance are awesome. For Rs. 11999, this phone offers the best value for money.
