Like Android phones, Apple has also given an easy way to capture screenshots. So, you can capture what is being displayed on your iPhone’s screen. Apple also lets you quickly edit the screenshot before it is saved on your phone. Later, you can share the screenshot with your friends. If you just switched from Android to iOS, you might find it hard to understand how to capture screenshots on the iPhone. This is the reason I am writing this detailed guide on how to screenshot on iPhone.
Previously, keys to capture screenshots were different because they also used TouchID. After Apple removed TouchID, it had to implement a new way to capture screenshots on iPhone. So, I will talk about capturing screenshots on all generations of iPhones.
Capture screenshot ono iPhone with Face ID
If your phone features Face ID and lacks Touch ID, you need to press the volume up button and side button at the same time and quickly release both buttons after you listen to the camera shutter sound.
A thumbnail of the screenshot temporarily appears in the lower-left corner of your display. If you want to edit the screenshot, tap the thumbnail. Otherwise, swipe left to dismiss it and the screenshot will be saved on your phone.
Capture screenshot on iPhone models with Touch ID
If you own an older model of iPhone that features TouchID, you need to press the TouchID and side button at the same time and release both buttons after you hear the camera shutter sound.
You will see the screenshot’s thumbnail at the lower-left corner. Tap on it to edit or swipe left to dismiss. The screenshot will be saved on your phone.
Capture screenshot on iPhone models with Touch ID and Top button
If you still own an older model of iPhone that came with a Top button along with a home button. You need to press the Top button and the Home button at the same time. Release both buttons after you listen to the camera shutter sound. It will show a thumbnail temporarily on the lower-left corner of your screen. Tap to edit the screenshot or swipe left to dismiss it. The screenshot will be saved on your phone.
