How to get E-Pass for lockdown Travel

India’s central government has announced the complete lockdown on March 24. So movement throughout the country has been restricted to only essential journeys. But citizens can also apply for Emergency curfew e-passes if they urgently want to travel for a valid reason. Those who are also into essential goods and supplies need to apply for an e-pass or movement pass.

The e-pass is being issued only by those who are classifying what is essential and what not. Basically, people into healthcare work, the supply, and distribution of food and medical supplies, police and fire services, security forces, courier services, and provider or utility services are eligible to get the curfew e-pass and travel without any restriction. Other persons can also apply if they have a valid reason to convict the e-pass issuing authority to get a travel e-pass.

Apply for the curfew e-pass by state

Online pass for lockdown travel can be applied online. The applications can be made via state-specific websites. If you want to get an e-pass for emergency travel, you should keep reading.

Open the e-pass website for your state or city. I have made a list later in this article. Most of the websites will ask you to register by entering your phone number. After registration, you will be asked to enter the reason why you need an e-pass, your personal details like name, address, vehicle number, and a photo id proof. Once your application is submitted, it will be reviewed by the local police.

Once your E-pass is approved, you will get a message from authorities on your phone informing you about the e-pass.

When you leave the house, it is necessary to carry a copy of the e-pass with you.

If you are in Delhi, You can also apply for an e-pass via WhatsApp. Here are the numbers to send a message. You will have to send name, address, details of essential purpose, period, timing, copy of ID proof and vehicle number. Local authorities will verify all the details. If they find your reason for travel necessary, you will get the e-pass.
