Amazon Prime vs Prime Lite: Explaining the differences

Prime vs Prime Lite

Amazon has introduced a new Amazon Prime Lite subscription, which is a cheaper version of regular Prime membership. With Prime Lite, Amazon aims to increase its subscriber base in India. The membership was initially launched for select customers back in January this year, and the company has now made it available to all users. Prime Lite costs Rs 999 for 12 months. On the other hand, the Prime membership costs Rs 1,499.

Prime Lite membership is cheaper, so it also has dropped a few benefits that you get in the regular Prime Membership. In this detailed article, I will explain the difference between Prime and Prime Lite membership. So, you know what features you will be missing in Prime Lite.

In Prime Lite, subscribers will not get Amazon Music access. They will get Amazon Prime Video but with ads. Prime Video content streaming has also been capped at HD quality and you can only use it on two devices. On the other hand, regular Prime members get both Prime Video and Amazon Music access without any ads. These users can stream content in 4K on up to six devices.

Prime Lite members do not get access to Prime Reading, Prime gaming, or free e-books.

Both Prime and Prime Lite subscribers will get early access to lightning deals, exclusive lightning deals, and deals of the day. Prime Members get One-Day Delivery, Two-Day Delivery, Scheduled Delivery, and Same-Day Delivery. But, Prime Lite members only get Free Two-Day Delivery and Standard Delivery.

Prime Lite membership also doesn’t offer No Cost EMI and Amazon Family offers. Prime Lite members will also pay higher for Morning Delivery.
