Aspyr and Crystal Dynamics have released Tomb Raider I–III Remastered for several new platforms. The remastered collection is now available on Nintendo Switch 2, as well as on iOS and Android devices.

Along with the new platform launches, the developers have also released a free update that introduces a new Challenge Mode for existing players.

The latest update adds a Challenge Mode that allows players to customize gameplay difficulty in different ways. Players can adjust several parameters, including health levels, enemy strength, damage values, and gameplay bonuses. The system calculates a challenge rating based on the settings chosen by the player. Higher challenge ratings unlock additional rewards and encourage players to replay levels with tougher conditions.

This mode is designed to add more replay value to the game, especially for players who have already completed the original campaigns.

The update also introduces ten new outfits for Lara Croft. These outfits can be unlocked by completing various achievements in the game. According to the developers, the outfits do not just change Lara’s appearance. Some of them also enhance her abilities, which can help players during difficult challenges.

In addition to the outfits, the update adds fifteen new achievements that are tied to the Challenge Mode.

The Tomb Raider I–III Remastered collection includes updated versions of the first three Tomb Raider games that originally defined the franchise. The remastered release improves visuals while allowing players to switch between classic and modern graphics.

The collection features improved lighting, enhanced character models, and smoother controls while keeping the original gameplay and level design intact.

The remastered collection was first released on February 14, 2024. At launch, it was available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC through platforms like Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG, and the Humble Store.

With the new mobile and Switch 2 versions, the developers are expanding the reach of the classic adventure series to more platforms.

This move will help introduce the original Tomb Raider trilogy to a new generation of players. At the same time, the Challenge Mode update gives longtime fans a reason to return and experience the classic levels again with new gameplay twists.
