Nothing has launched its latest smartphone, the Phone (4a) Pro, in India. This is the successor to last year’s Phone (3a) Pro and comes with a bigger display, improved cameras, and more powerful performance.

The Phone (4a) Pro has a 6.83-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate and peak brightness of 5,000 nits. It supports HDR10+ and has a touch sampling rate of 480Hz. The display panel also has Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection.

The device is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM. It also features a 5,300 mm² vapor chamber for cooling and can run games like BGMI at 120 Hz and PUBG at 90 Hz.

The phone runs Android 16 with Nothing OS 4.1. Nothing promises three Android updates and six years of security patches. The Essential Key and Essential Space are still present.

The Pro model comes with a Glyph Matrix. This uses 137 mini-LEDs covering a 57 percent larger area and is 100 percent brighter than the previous version, delivering sharper notifications at around 3,000 nits. Glyph Toys like Battery, Timer, Digital Clock, Solar Path, and Glyph Mirror are fully supported, including integration into the Glyph Matrix Always-on Display.

The phone has a full-metal aluminium frame and a sleek 7.95 mm design. The camera bar now houses the cameras and the Glyph Matrix. The back is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. The device has an IP65 rating for dust and splash resistance.

The Phone (4a) Pro has a 50MP main camera with a Sony LYT700c sensor and OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 32MP front camera. It also features a 50MP 3.5x periscope telephoto lens with OIS, capable of up to 140x hybrid zoom—the longest zoom on a Nothing phone so far.

The phone supports dual SIM, 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, GPS, USB Type-C, and stereo speakers. It has an in-display fingerprint scanner.

The Indian variant comes with a 5,400mAh battery, while the global version has a 5,080mAh battery. It supports 50W wired charging, reaching 60 percent in 30 minutes. Wireless charging is not available. Nothing says the battery can retain over 90 percent of its capacity even after 1,200 charge cycles.
