TECNO has launched a new budget smartphone, TECNO POP X, in India. It is a 4G phone and comes under the POP series. The company is targeting users who want a big display, good battery life, and strong durability at a low price.

The TECNO POP X features a 6.75-inch HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate. A 120Hz screen makes scrolling smoother and improves the overall experience while gaming or browsing.

The phone comes in two color options. One is a textured olive green finish. The other is a white variant with a wave-like reflective pattern. The design looks modern and different from typical entry-level phones. It comes with an IP64 rating, which means it is protected against dust and water splashes. The company claims the device has gone through more than 25,000 drop tests. For a budget phone, this is a strong claim and can attract users who want a more reliable device.

The device is powered by a 1.8GHz octa-core UNISOC T7250 processor built on a 12nm process. It comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. Storage can be expanded using a microSD card.

It runs HiOS 15 based on Android 15. TECNO also mentions a “4 Years TDV Lasting Fluency” certification. This means the company has optimized the software and hardware to keep the phone running smoothly for up to four years.

The phone features a 13-megapixel rear camera with f/1.85 aperture and dual LED flash. There is also an 8-megapixel front camera for selfies. The rear camera module includes an infrared sensor as well. The company claims the camera can capture clear shots of moving subjects.

It has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor and an Infrared sensor. Connectivity options are Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n (2.4GHz), Bluetooth 5.2, and GPS, USB Type-C. The phone packs a 5000mAh battery with support for 15W charging.

The most notable feature is the “No Network Communication” mode. This allows users to make offline calls and send messages within a range of up to 1.5 kilometers. It works without a mobile network or Wi-Fi. This can be useful in areas with weak network coverage.

The TECNO POP X is priced at Rs. 8,499 for the 4GB + 64GB variant. With an HDFC Bank offer, buyers can get the phone for Rs. 7,749 as part of the launch promotion.
