The Pokémon Company and Game Freak have announced two new Pokémon games for the Switch 2. The games, titled Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves, are set to launch worldwide in 2027.

These new titles bring the next generation of Pokémon adventures. Players will explore an open world with windswept islands and a vast ocean filled with sparkling waves. Each version will have a main character whose outfit changes depending on the game.

Trainers will start their journey by choosing one of three new starter Pokémon. Browt, the Grass-type Bean Chick Pokemon; Pombon, the Fire-type Puppy Pokemon; or Gecqua, the Water-type Water Gecko Pokemon.

There will also be special Pikachu variants called Mr. Windychu and Ms. Wavychu.

Pokémon Winds and Waves will also add Brazilian Portuguese as an official language option. This will make the games more accessible to players around the world and help bring the Pokémon community closer together.
