MediaTek has launched the new chipset Dimensity 7100 for mid-range smartphones. The new 5G processor focuses on better efficiency, balanced performance, and support for modern hardware features. It is now listed on MediaTek’s official website and joins the growing Dimensity lineup.
The Dimensity 7100 is built using a 6nm manufacturing process. MediaTek says this helps improve power efficiency, especially during multitasking, app usage, and multimedia playback. The chipset is designed for smoother everyday performance while keeping battery usage under control.
The processor features an octa-core CPU setup. It includes four Arm Cortex-A78 cores clocked up to 2.4GHz for performance tasks and four Arm Cortex-A55 cores clocked up to 2.0GHz for efficiency. Graphics are handled by the Arm Mali-G610 GPU, which MediaTek claims offers around eight percent better performance compared to the previous Dimensity 7050 series.
Display support includes refresh rates up to 120Hz and 10-bit color depth with HDR video playback. This helps deliver smoother visuals, better colors, and a more responsive screen experience on supported devices.
For connectivity, the Dimensity 7100 comes with an integrated 5G modem based on 3GPP Release 16 standards. It supports peak download speeds of up to 3.3Gbps. MediaTek has also included its UltraSave 3.0+ technology, which helps reduce battery drain during long 5G sessions. The chipset supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4 for faster and more stable wireless connections.
The chipset supports LPDDR5 RAM with speeds up to 5500Mbps and also supports LPDDR4x memory. Storage support goes up to UFS 3.1, which allows faster app loading and file transfers. For cameras, the Dimensity 7100 can handle sensors up to 200 megapixels, depending on the phone maker’s implementation.
