Motorola has started teasing a new premium smartphone for the Indian market. The teaser carries the line “premium deserves its signature,” which clearly hints at a new top-end series. This phone is expected to replace the Edge Ultra models and introduce a new Signature lineup.

Based on leaks and industry chatter, this new Signature phone is likely the Motorola Edge 70 Ultra, internally known as Urus. However, Motorola may launch it as the first phone in the Signature Series.
If the leaks are accurate, this phone could be one of the first in India to feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor. This matters because flagship chips often define performance leadership. The phone is expected to feature a 6.7-inch OLED display with 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. A Geekbench listing has already hinted at 16GB of RAM and Android 16.
Renders show unique finishes like Carbon and Martini Olive. Motorola has been using vegan leather on its premium phones, and it is likely to continue here.
This seems like a smart move by separating this phone from the regular Edge lineup. The premium market in India is crowded, and specs alone no longer impress buyers. According to Counterpoint Research, Apple and Samsung together control over 75 percent of India’s premium smartphone market. To break into this space, Motorola needs a clear identity, not just competitive hardware.
As for the launch timeline, the Flipkart teaser page only says “stay tuned.” Based on current leaks and marketing activity, a January 2026 launch looks likely.
