Radical Theory and The Breach Studios have revealed their upcoming open-world survival game Westlanders. Westlanders is currently in development for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series consoles, and PC. Before the console release, the developers plan to launch a Kickstarter campaign in early 2026, followed by a PC Early Access release on Steam.
Westlanders places players in a harsh frontier world where survival goes beyond just gathering resources. The game combines exploration, crafting, combat, and settlement management in a Western setting. Players can experience the game alone or play together with up to four players in cooperative mode.
The game has a moving base system. So, players travel the open world using a customizable mobile base, wagon. This wagon acts as a home, crafting station, and storage space. It allows players to explore freely and set up camps wherever needed.
The game also focuses heavily on building and expansion. Players can create outposts, grow them into settlements, and recruit characters with different roles. These settlements can be linked together through trade routes, creating a working economy that needs to be managed and defended from threats like bandits and wild animals.
The developers have confirmed that community feedback will play a key role in development. Both the Kickstarter campaign and Early Access phase are intended to help shape the final version of the game before it arrives on consoles.
