realme has launched its new flagship, the realme GT8 Pro, in India. The phone starts at Rs. 72,999 and comes with several features that clearly show realme wants to compete at the very top of the premium segment. The company had been teasing the device for weeks, and the final product looks impressive on paper.

The GT8 Pro comes with a 6.79-inch 2K 144Hz HyperGlow Display that can hit a peak brightness of 7000 nits, which is one of the highest brightness levels we have seen on any smartphone. The touch response is also extremely fast with a 3200Hz touch sampling rate. This makes the phone feel very smooth, especially during gaming.

realme is using the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, paired with up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS 4.1 storage. The phone also has a 7000mm² VC cooling system, the largest ever in a realme phone. The company claims that its new AI Gaming Super Frame feature can push games like MLBB to 144Hz and BGMI to 120Hz, even when the temperature around you is 35°C. This shows that realme is taking gaming performance seriously.

The GT8 Pro runs on Android 16-based realme UI 7.0. The interface adds a customizable Light Glass Design with unique Ice Cube Icons and a Misty Glass Control Center. realme has also promised 4 years of OS updates and 5 years of security updates, which is now important for users buying premium phones.

The phone features a switchable camera bump. This is the world’s first camera module that users can detach and replace with different designs, like round, square, or even a robot-style panel. It gives users a small but fun way to customize the look of the phone.

realme has also partnered with Ricoh Imaging, which makes the GT8 Pro the first phone to use a camera system co-engineered with Ricoh. The device features a new 200MP 3x telephoto camera with a large sensor, promising sharp and detailed zoom shots. The main camera is a 50MP Ricoh GR anti-glare lens, and there is a 50MP ultra-wide camera as well. The phone supports 4K 120fps Dolby Vision, 8K 30fps recording, and 10-bit Log video for creators who want more control.

GT8 Pro comes with an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and an Infrared sensor. It also has USB Type-C audio, Stereo speakers, and Hi-Res audio. Connectivity options are 5G SA/ NSA, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 7 802.11 be, Bluetooth 6.0, Dual band: BeiDou, GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS, NavIC, NFC, and USB Type-C.

Another highlight is the 7000mAh battery. It supports 120W fast charging, which can take the phone to full in under 45 minutes, and 50W wireless flash charging, which charges up to 50% in just 15 minutes. This is one of the most powerful battery setups in any flagship right now.

realme has also unveiled a special GT8 Pro Dream Edition, created with the Aston Martin Aramco F1 Team. It features a racing-inspired design with Aston Martin Green, a special silver emblem, and a motorsport-themed UI. This edition is clearly meant for fans who love premium design and motorsport aesthetics.

The realme GT8 Pro will be available on realme.com, Flipkart, and retail stores. The base variant starts at Rs. 72,999, but with bank offers, the effective price drops to Rs. 67,999. The Dream Edition is priced at Rs. 79,999. Sales begin on November 25, 2025.

The GT8 Pro definitely feels like realme’s most ambitious flagship so far. With its strong hardware, new camera partnership, and a bold switchable design, the phone tries to offer something different from typical flagship launches. It will be interesting to see how users respond once it goes on sale.
