Battlefield 6 is getting its first free trial next week, and it feels like EA has picked the perfect moment. The game had a rough start, but after months of patches, fixes, and new content, Battlefield 6 finally feels like the version that should have launched on day one. Now EA wants more players to try it, probably to move closer to its ambitious target of 100 million players.
The free trial starts on November 25 and runs until December 2, and it will be available across all platforms. This trial is for the core multiplayer game, so gamers can have a direct taste of the main game.
However, the map selection in the trial is a bit odd. EA is offering access to three maps: Siege of Cairo, Eastwood, and Blackwell Fields. While Siege of Cairo is a solid choice, Eastwood is technically a sliced-out portion of the larger Fort Lyndon map from Redsec. That means players who have tried Redsec might feel a bit of déjà vu. It is not a bad set of maps, but Battlefield has better ones that could have made the trial more exciting.
The trial supports five modes, and EA has confirmed four of them: Conquest, Breakthrough, Sabotage, and Team Deathmatch. These are classic Battlefield modes that show the game’s scale and chaos well. The fifth mode is still a mystery and will be revealed in a blog post next week.
Battlefield 6 just received one of its biggest updates, which marks the second phase of Season 1. Two new maps have already been added this season, along with new weapons. More importantly, the update focuses on improving systems that players have been complaining about since launch.
If you skipped the game at launch because of the bugs, the messy progression, or the mixed early reviews, this free trial is a good time to see how much has changed.
