A new survival horror game called Fright Train has been announced for PC. It is being developed by WildArts, the studio behind Born of Bread and Caput Mortum. The game will launch on Steam in 2026.
Fright Train is a single-player, third-person survival horror game that takes place on a moving train surrounded by the freezing wilderness of Antarctica. You play as Doug Barker, a rookie paranormal agent working for P.A.W. (Paranormal Agency Worldwide).
The story begins when Doug is sent to investigate a mysterious distress signal from the L.R.S. Great White, a research train owned by the secretive SHARK Corporation. What starts as a rescue mission soon turns into a terrifying fight for survival, as Doug faces monsters unleashed by a failed experiment.
The goal is simple but deadly. You have to keep the train running. If the train stops, you risk freezing to death or being overrun by monsters. Players will need to solve puzzles, repair equipment, and fight frost-infected creatures to stay alive.
The game features a mid-2000s horror aesthetic, detailed gore effects, and a unique combat system where enemies can work together or sabotage each other. It also promises a dark story with moments of humor, giving it a mix of tension and personality.
