In a controlled machine-based bend test, it took an impressive 216 pounds (around 98 kg) of force before the front glass finally cracked. JerryRigEverything noted that the screen resisted visible marks up to level 6, while only minor scratches appeared at level 7. This level of scratch resistance puts it ahead of many other flagship smartphones in terms of long-term durability.
Even after the glass cracked under extreme pressure, the iPhone Air remained partially functional. This means that despite visible damage, the device could still be used, which is a sign of how well the internal components are protected.
