Digital Cybercherries has announced that “HYPERCHARGE: Unboxed” will be released for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 in 2025. PlayStation users can now wishlist the game on the PlayStation Store. The game was initially launched on Switch on January 31, 2020. Later, it came to PC via Steam on April 27, 2020, and then to Xbox Series and Xbox One on May 31, 2024.

The PlayStation version will support cross-platform play with Xbox and PC.

The game has been a big success on PC, Switch, and Xbox. It was even recognized as one of the six best indie titles of 2024. The Xbox version sold over 100,000 units in its first month without Game Pass or a publisher. This is the reason PlayStation gamers have been asking for it.

In “HYPERCHARGE: Unboxed,” players join Sgt. Max Ammo to protect the Hypercore. This ancient power source keeps childhood toy memories alive. If Major Evil destroys the Hypercore, those memories will be lost forever. So players must defend it at all costs.

The game combines first- and third-person shooting with action-packed gameplay. Players work together to complete objectives, fight waves of enemy toys, and stop Major Evil in the story campaign.

Players can either team up with friends to defend the Hypercore or play it solo with an internet connection. If you prefer solo play, AI bots will assist you. They follow commands, collect resources, and help build defenses.
