Capcom has brought the remakes of Resident Evil 2, Resident Evil 3, and Resident Evil 4 to Nintendo Switch 2. All three games are now available as digital titles, allowing players to experience the survival horror series on Nintendo’s latest console.

Resident Evil 2 follows rookie police officer Leon S. Kennedy and college student Claire Redfield as they try to survive a zombie outbreak in Raccoon City. The remake features a redesigned version of the original game, with an over-the-shoulder camera, updated visuals, and a more immersive approach to exploration and combat.

Resident Evil 3 focuses on Jill Valentine as she attempts to escape Raccoon City while being hunted by Nemesis, a powerful creature designed to eliminate members of S.T.A.R.S. The remake reworks the original 1999 game with modern graphics and faster-paced action. However, it also removes several areas and encounters from the original, making it a more streamlined experience than Resident Evil 2.

Resident Evil 4 takes the series beyond Raccoon City. It follows Leon Kennedy on a mission to rescue the US president’s daughter from a mysterious group in a rural European village. The remake updates the original game’s combat, exploration, and story while retaining its focus on action and survival horror.

The arrival of all three games on Switch 2 gives players another way to experience these modern remakes without being tied to a TV or gaming PC. Nintendo’s newer hardware also offers more room for visually demanding games than the original Switch, although the actual image quality and performance will depend on how Capcom has optimised each port.

The releases also give players more Resident Evil games to explore while waiting for the series’ next developments. Resident Evil Requiem has already sold more than 8 million copies, showing continued demand for the franchise. Capcom is also reportedly preparing a story expansion for Requiem, while Resident Evil Code: Veronica is scheduled for 2027.

Pricing and availability may vary by region, so players should check the Nintendo eShop for their local listings. All three remakes are available digitally for Nintendo Switch 2.
