HP has launched the ZBook Ultra G3a 16-inch mobile workstation in India. The new workstation is designed for professionals who need high performance for AI development, engineering, design, and content creation. It uses AMD Ryzen AI Max+ PRO processors and supports running large language models (LLMs) and AI agents locally on the device.
The HP ZBook Ultra G3a weighs around 1.9kg and measures 17.9mm in thickness, which makes it relatively portable for a mobile workstation. HP says its thermal design supports up to 100W of performance, with up to 81.8% higher TDP.
HP ZBook Ultra G3a features a 16-inch display, although the specifications listed for the Indian model mention a WUXGA IPS panel with a resolution of 1920 × 1200 pixels, a 400-nit brightness rating, and 100% sRGB colour coverage. HP has also highlighted a 2.8K OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate in its product details, so the display specifications may vary by configuration.
The HP ZBook Ultra G3a is powered by AMD Ryzen AI Max+ PRO processors, with configurations featuring the Ryzen AI Max PRO 485 and Ryzen AI Max+ PRO 495. It comes with integrated AMD Radeon 8050S graphics and 32GB of LPDDR5x memory running at 8533 MT/s, along with a 512GB PCIe Gen5 NVMe SSD. This hardware is designed to handle demanding professional applications and AI workloads. Support for running large language models (LLMs) and AI agents locally also allows professionals to work with AI tools on the device instead of relying entirely on cloud-based services.
The ZBook Ultra G3a supports Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, and 5G. Its port selection includes two Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, one USB-C port with 10Gbps data transfer speeds, a USB-A port, HDMI 2.1, an SD card reader, and a 3.5mm headphone and microphone combo jack.
The laptop also comes with a 5MP IR camera, Poly Studio audio, four integrated stereo speakers, and dual-array digital microphones. It runs Windows 11 Pro and includes HP Wolf Security for device protection.
HP has also focused on long-term usability with an IT-replaceable keyboard and a design intended to make servicing easier. These features could help businesses maintain the laptop for longer instead of replacing the entire device when certain components need attention.
The device packs a 96Wh battery and is rated to deliver up to 14 hours of use. It supports fast charging, which can bring the battery to around 50% in 30 minutes. HP also offers 140W and 180W GaN USB-C charging adapters, depending on the configuration.
The HP ZBook Ultra G3a 16-inch is priced at Rs. 2,89,990, excluding taxes, in India. It is available through HP’s commercial channel partners and comes with a one-year limited warranty covering parts and labour, without on-site repair.
