vivo has officially announced the launch date of the vivo V80 in India. The new V-Series smartphone will launch on October 6, 2026, at 12 PM. The company has already started teasing the phone, revealing details about its display, cameras, battery and software ahead of the launch.
The vivo V80 focuses on camera improvements, a larger battery and a high-refresh-rate display. It will also be the first V-Series smartphone to launch with vivo’s new OriginOS 7 software.
The vivo V80 comes with a camera system co-engineered with ZEISS Optics. The rear setup includes a 50-megapixel ZEISS OIS main camera using a Sony LYTIA 700V sensor with a 1/1.56-inch size.
The phone also gets a 50-megapixel ZEISS Night Telephoto camera based on the 1/1.95-inch Sony IMX882 sensor. It supports optical image stabilization, 3x optical zoom and up to 100x zoom. The rear camera setup is completed by a ZEISS ultra-wide-angle camera.
On the front, the smartphone features a 50-megapixel ZEISS Group Selfie camera. It has a 92-degree field of view and autofocus, which should make it useful for group selfies and wider portraits.
For video recording, the vivo V80 supports 4K Cinematic Video and 4K video recording at 60fps.
vivo is also adding more AI-powered camera tools to the V80. The phone will offer more than 30 AI-driven creative tools, including Live Sticker Collage and other effects designed to turn regular photos into social media-ready images without requiring a separate editing app.
The phone also gets AI Diwali Portrait 2.0. The feature is designed for festive photography and can optimize warm lighting, skin tones and elements such as rangoli and toran decorations.
Other AI-based tools include Pet Pals, Snap Note and Security Shield.
The vivo V80 features a 6.59-inch 1.5K OLED display with a refresh rate of up to 144Hz. The panel supports 1.07 billion colours and has a claimed local peak brightness of 5,000 nits.
For use in dark environments, the display can reduce brightness down to 1 nit. The phone also has 1.25mm bezels around the display.
The vivo V80 uses a one-piece cold-carved glass rear panel with a floating camera module. It will be available in three colours: Sunrise Anthem, Horizon Blue and Stellar Black.
The phone packs a 7,200mAh battery, which vivo says is the largest battery capacity offered on a V-Series smartphone so far. According to vivo, the battery can provide up to 14 hours of continuous navigation and up to 39.5 hours of local video playback. The phone also supports 90W FlashCharge.
vivo claims the battery can reach 50% charge in 30 minutes when using Fast Charging Mode.
The vivo V80 will run OriginOS 7 out of the box. It will be the first smartphone in the V-Series to ship with the new software, bringing vivo’s latest interface changes and software optimizations to the series.
vivo will reveal the price of the V80 in India during the launch event on October 6. The smartphone will be available through vivo’s official website, Amazon.in, Flipkart and vivo’s offline retail stores after the launch.
The launch event will begin at 12 PM on October 6, 2026.
