Razer has launched the Kraken V4 X Sensa HD Haptics, a wired gaming headset that adds physical feedback to in-game sounds and events. It is priced at $99.99 and brings Razer’s Sensa HD Haptics technology to a more affordable Kraken model.

The headset supports Sensa HD Haptics across more than 100 games. It uses multiple actuators to create localized effects, allowing different events to produce different sensations based on their direction, distance and location. Razer has also worked with developers to create haptic effects specifically for supported games.

The Kraken V4 X Sensa HD Haptics is designed to go beyond the basic vibration found on some gaming accessories. Razer’s system can produce different haptic effects for events such as gunfire, explosions and other actions. The company says the technology considers factors such as intensity, duration and position to make the feedback more detailed.

For supported games, developers can create effects specifically for gameplay events. Razer also supports Audio-to-Haptics, which can convert game audio into haptic feedback when native game integration is not available.

This makes the haptics the main reason to consider the new Kraken V4 X. The $99.99 price also makes it a cheaper entry point into Razer’s Sensa ecosystem.

Razer has paired the haptic system with its TriForce 40mm drivers. The drivers are designed to separately tune the highs, mids and lows for clearer audio.

The headset also supports 7.1 surround sound for positional audio. A HyperClear Cardioid microphone handles voice communication, using a unidirectional pickup pattern designed to focus on the user’s voice while reducing background noise.

The Kraken V4 X Sensa HD Haptics connects through USB Type-A and weighs 330 grams. It uses FlowKnit memory foam ear cushions and has a volume dial, microphone mute button and dedicated haptic intensity button.

There is no battery since this is a wired headset. Razer has also added Chroma RGB lighting for users who want to match the headset with their gaming setup.
