Amazon has launched the new Fire TV Stick 4K. The successor comes with a slimmer design, Amazon’s Vega operating system, and a redesigned Fire TV Remote. The new streaming device also supports Wi-Fi 6, Alexa+, and a wider selection of apps.
The new Fire TV Stick 4K replaces the Fire TV Stick 4K Select that Amazon launched in September 2025. It is positioned below the Fire TV Stick 4K Max and Fire TV Cube in Amazon’s streaming device lineup.
The new Fire TV Stick 4K runs on Amazon’s Vega OS, which first appeared on the Fire TV 4K Select. Amazon says the platform now has more apps, including Spotify, Xbox, VLC, and VPN services. The device also comes with Alexa+ and the new Fire TV Experience.
Amazon has equipped the streaming stick with a 1.7GHz quad-core processor and 8GB of storage. The device can also be powered directly from a compatible TV’s USB port, meaning users do not necessarily need a separate power adapter. The same option is available on the cheaper Fire TV Stick HD (2026).
For video playback, the new Fire TV Stick 4K supports HDR10, HDR10+, HLG, H.265, H.264, VP9, and AV1. It also supports Dolby-encoded audio with HDMI pass-through. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.3, and Bluetooth LE. Amazon will also sell a USB-C Ethernet adapter for users who want a wired connection.
The new Fire TV Stick 4K ships with a redesigned Fire TV Remote. It has a flatter top and a rounded, weighted bottom, which Amazon says makes it easier to identify the correct orientation. The remote also gets a metallic orange home button and a customizable favorite button.
The remote can control compatible TVs, soundbars, and AV receivers using its power, volume, and mute buttons. Amazon says it is also compatible with Fire TV streaming devices and Amazon Ember TVs launched from 2019 onwards.
The new Fire TV Stick 4K is priced at $59.99 in the US and is available to buy now. The package includes a 1.3-foot power cable and two AAA batteries for the remote. Amazon also offers a bundle with a USB-C Ethernet adapter for $79.98 and another bundle with a 5-foot USB-C cable and 5W wall adapter for $89.97.
The launch price is worth looking at in the context of Amazon’s current Fire TV discounts. The Fire TV Stick 4K Max is currently available for $44.99, while the Fire TV Stick 4K Plus is priced at $37.99. Both are currently cheaper than the new model and offer features that are not available on the new Fire TV Stick 4K.
The 4K Max, for example, offers 16GB of storage, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, and the Alexa Voice Remote Enhanced. The 4K Plus has 8GB of storage, Wi-Fi 6, and the standard Alexa Voice Remote. These discounts make Amazon’s new Fire TV Stick 4K an interesting launch, but not necessarily the obvious choice in its current pricing environment.
