Microsoft has refreshed its Free Play Days promotion with five games that Xbox players can try this weekend. The latest offer includes Control Ultimate Edition, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, Naruto To Boruto: Shinobi Striker, ARK: Survival Ascended, and the open beta for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4.
The best part is that three of these offers are available without an Xbox Game Pass membership. Xbox players can jump into Control Ultimate Edition and Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves directly, while the Modern Warfare 4 open beta will also be available to try.
The Modern Warfare 4 open beta starts on August 28 at 10 AM PT and brings more content than last week’s closed beta. It also includes a campaign mission, marking the first time a campaign mission has been made available as part of the game’s beta.
Control Ultimate Edition offers a supernatural action experience where players take control of Jesse Faden and use different abilities while exploring the mysterious Federal Bureau of Control. Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, meanwhile, brings back SNK’s classic fighting franchise with a modern gameplay system.
The other two games are available to Xbox Game Pass members. Naruto To Boruto: Shinobi Striker is a team-based 4v4 fighting game that lets players create their own ninja and fight alongside characters from the Naruto series.
ARK: Survival Ascended is a survival game that combines exploration, crafting and base building with dinosaurs and science-fiction elements. The game is available through the promotion on Xbox Series X|S and Windows.

Most of the games are also available at discounted prices during the promotion, giving players an option to purchase them after trying them out.
The Free Play Days games can be found directly through the Xbox Store. Open the Store on your console, select Home from the sidebar and then open the Subscriptions tab. The available Free Play Days games will appear there.
The regular Free Play Days offers will remain available until August 30 at 11:59 PM PT. The Modern Warfare 4 open beta follows its own schedule.
