Mijia, Xiaomi’s smart home brand, has launched two new air purifiers in India. The Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 and Mijia Smart Air Purifier 4 Compact target different room sizes and come with smart controls through the Xiaomi Home app.

The Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 is the more powerful model of the two. It is priced at Rs. 19,999, while the Mijia Smart Air Purifier 4 Compact costs Rs. 7,999.

Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6

The Mijia Smart Air Purifier 6 uses five sensors to monitor temperature, humidity, dust, PM1 and PM2.5 levels. The purifier has a colour LCD display that shows air quality information in real time.

It uses a five-layer filtration system. The primary filter captures larger particles such as dust, pollen and pet dander. Xiaomi’s high-efficiency filter is claimed to remove 99.98% of 0.3μm fine particles, including PM2.5, pollen and second-hand smoke.

An activated carbon layer helps deal with formaldehyde, toluene, TVOCs and household, pet and cooking odours. The purifier also includes UVC sterilisation and a built-in negative ion generator.

Xiaomi says the purifier has received SGS Allergen Removal Testing and ITS Allergen Free Certification. The company claims it can remove 98.2% of pollen, 99.31% of pet dander, 98.11% of dust mites and 99.99% of PM10 within one hour.

The purifier has a particle CADR of 443m³/h and a formaldehyde CADR of 218m³/h. It is designed for spaces between 29 and 50 square metres, with coverage of up to 940 sq. ft. based on two air changes per hour.

Xiaomi claims the purifier can clean a 108 sq. ft. room in 3.5 minutes, a 200 sq. ft. room in six minutes and a 400 sq. ft. room in 12 minutes.

For indoor pollutants, Xiaomi claims 98% formaldehyde removal and 92.4% TVOC removal within one hour. It also claims a 99.99% H1N1 removal rate and 99.9% removal rates for E. coli, P. aeruginosa, S. aureus and pneumonia bacteria.

The purifier offers Auto, Sleep, Level 1, Level 2, Level 3 and Manual modes. Sleep Mode operates at 32.1dB(A), while Manual Mode allows users to adjust the fan speed through the Xiaomi Home app.

The app also allows users to monitor air quality, control the purifier remotely, schedule operation and check filter life. The purifier supports Xiaomi HyperOS Connect, Google Home and Amazon Alexa for smart home integration and voice control.

The filter is designed to last around one year, although actual replacement intervals can vary depending on usage and air quality. The purifier can notify users when the filter needs to be replaced.

The top cover can also be removed to clean the internal air duct and fan blades. A magnetic door provides access to the filter.
