Apple has crossed a major milestone in India. The company generated more than $10 billion in sales during the financial year ending March 2026. This is the first time its annual revenue in the country has reached double-digit billions.

This also shows how rapidly Apple is growing in India, where demand for premium smartphones and other devices continues to rise. It also comes as the company expands both its retail presence and manufacturing operations in the country.

According to the report, Apple’s India revenue grew at a double-digit rate from around $9 billion in the previous fiscal year. That means Apple added more than $1 billion in additional revenue within a year despite selling some of the most expensive smartphones in the country.

The majority of this revenue came from iPhone sales, while demand for MacBooks and iPads also increased. Apple recently reported its best-ever Mac sales in India, which further shows that growth is no longer limited to iPhones alone.

While India still contributes only a small portion of Apple’s global revenue, it has become one of the company’s fastest-growing markets.

The growth is particularly impressive because India’s overall smartphone market has remained largely flat. According to Counterpoint Research, smartphone shipments stayed around 152-153 million units in 2025. However, Apple’s iPhone shipments grew to around 14 million units, increasing its market share from 7% in 2024 to 9% in 2025, the highest in the company’s history in India.

Counterpoint also noted that the premium smartphone segment (above ₹30,000) grew 15% year over year and accounted for a record 23% of all smartphone shipments in India. This shift towards premium devices has benefited Apple significantly.

Apple’s growing retail network is another reason behind the strong sales.

The company opened another official Apple Store in Mumbai earlier this year, taking its total number of company-owned retail stores in India to six. Since opening its first stores in Mumbai and New Delhi in 2023, Apple has continued expanding its physical retail presence while also strengthening its premium reseller network.

Apple also offers exchange programs, student discounts, EMI options, and bank offers to make its premium devices more accessible to Indian buyers.

India is no longer just an important sales market. It has also become one of Apple’s biggest manufacturing hubs.

The company now manufactures around one in every four iPhones globally in India. Production reached approximately 55 million iPhones in 2025, up from 36 million units a year earlier, representing a growth of more than 50% year over year.

India has also become Apple’s primary production base for iPhones shipped to the United States, as the company continues reducing its dependence on China amid geopolitical tensions and supply chain diversification.

Apple’s $10 billion milestone shows that India is becoming one of the company’s most important markets outside the US and China.

The company is benefiting from rising demand for premium smartphones, a growing middle class, stronger retail presence, and local manufacturing. With both sales and production expanding rapidly, India is expected to play an even bigger role in Apple’s long-term global strategy.
