Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment has announced DCKO, a new free-to-play fighting game for Android and iPhone. The game is scheduled to launch in 2027, and players can already pre-register through its official website.
DCKO is a mobile-first fighting game featuring popular DC superheroes and villains. It focuses on real-time online PvP battles, where players can fight against others using their favorite DC characters.
The game will launch with a large roster that includes Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Harley Quinn, Robin, Nightwing, Green Lantern, Raven, Catwoman, Cyborg, Lex Luthor, Doomsday, Bane, Poison Ivy, Constantine, Blue Beetle, Starfire, Katana, and Zatanna. The developers have also confirmed that a new character will be added every month after launch.
Players can create teams of heroes and villains, perform combos, use powerful Super Moves, and switch between fighters during battles. The game will also include story missions, PvE modes, Rift challenges, and regular content updates with new maps and rewards.
Unlike console fighting games, DCKO is designed specifically for smartphones with simple touch controls and shorter matches. That could make it easier for casual players to jump in while still offering enough depth for competitive players.
Warner Bros. is entering a crowded mobile gaming market, but the DC brand gives DCKO a strong advantage. Games like Injustice 2 Mobile have already shown that there is demand for superhero fighting games on smartphones. However, DCKO will need smooth gameplay and fair monetization to keep players interested after launch.
