Motorola has launched the motorola edge 70 Max in India. The new flagship smartphone comes with a 2K LTPO AMOLED display, Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 processor, 7100mAh battery, 90W fast charging, and 25W magnetic wireless charging.

The motorola edge 70 Max features a 6.8-inch 2K Extreme AMOLED LTPO display with a 144Hz adaptive refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass 7i protection. The display offers up to 7000 nits peak brightness, Dolby Vision, HDR10+, Pantone Validated colors, Pantone SkinTone validation, 510ppi pixel density, a 360Hz touch sampling rate, and a 96.8% screen-to-body ratio.

The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 3nm processor with Adreno 829 GPU. Motorola claims the chipset delivers over 3.2 million AnTuTu score, along with 36% faster CPU performance, 11% better GPU performance, and 46% faster AI processing compared to the previous generation.

It comes with up to 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB UFS 4.1 storage. The phone runs Android 16 with Hello UX. Motorola has promised three major Android updates and five years of bi-monthly security updates.

The motorola edge 70 Max is designed for gaming and heavy workloads. It features the new ArcticMesh Cooling System with a 5,500mm² vapor chamber and a total cooling area of 29,550mm² using liquid metal and thermal materials.

The phone comes with Motorola Qira, the company’s new on-device AI assistant. It also includes support for Google Gemini, Microsoft Copilot, and Perplexity.

Motorola Qira offers several AI features, including:

  • Catch Me Up to summarize notifications.
  • Recall to search past chats, screenshots, and saved information using natural language.
  • Creator Zone with AI tools such as Scribble to Image, Create Avatar, and Style Sync.

According to Motorola, the system can reduce CPU temperatures by up to 7.1°C during heavy gaming sessions, helping maintain stable performance.

The motorola edge 70 Max features a dual rear camera setup that includes 50MP Sony LYTIA-710 main camera with OIS along with an 8MP ultra-wide camera with autofocus and macro support. On the front, the phone gets a 32MP selfie camera. All cameras support up to 4K video recording. Camera features include AI Enhancement Engine, AI Action Shot, Frame Match, 360° Horizon Lock, AI Adaptive Stabilization, Audio Zoom, and 4K video recording on all cameras.

Other features include stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, Snapdragon Sound, USB Type-C audio, NFC, ThinkShield security, and Wi-Fi 7 support.

The phone packs a 7100mAh battery using fourth-generation silicon-carbon battery technology. Motorola claims the battery can deliver up to 25 hours of gaming, 42 hours of video playback, and 58 hours of mixed usage.

It supports 90W TurboPower fast charging that charges the battery to 50% in around 21 minutes. The edge 70 Max also supports 25W Qi2.2 magnetic wireless charging with built-in magnets that are compatible with MagSafe accessories. Motorola says the phone can charge wirelessly from 0 to 100% in about 86 minutes.

The phone also supports 5W reverse wired charging for charging accessories such as wireless earbuds.

The motorola edge 70 Max features an aircraft-grade aluminum frame with Corning Gorilla Glass 7i on both the front and back.

It has MIL-STD-810H military-grade durability certification and can survive drops of up to 1.8 meters. The phone is also designed to work in temperatures ranging from -20°C to 60°C. It comes with IP68 and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.

The phone measures 164 × 77 × 8.29mm and weighs 221g.

  • 12GB + 256GB: Rs. 59,999

The smartphone will be available from July 20 through Flipkart, Motorola India website, and offline retail stores.
